Myspace provides the Worst customer suport ever!

recently, according to my archived email actually, may 29th was the last notification email i received from myspace. for a while now i’ve delt with it, but now i want the notifications back. but according to my account settings i should be receiving them, and its not going into my spam folder.

so i sent an email to customer support. forgot what it said exactly but i clearly explained the situation. here is myspaces response.

I am getting tired of this half assed customer support. The only time i get any positive response from you guys is when i am reporting underaged profiles.

Listen closely to my problem. If i get another half assed response i am escalating this problem. is that clear? i will use small words so you can understand my problem.

Email notifications no work! the option is set so that i should be recieving them. it was never touched. they just stoped coming. i have double checked it again. according to my options i should be recieving notification emails, but i am not.

I do not want to change my email address, i want notifications sent to my email.

someone please tell me where i go to escalate this problem. i’ll stay on the phone all damn day if i have to, i’m pissed at these guys.

I just sent this email to privacy@myspace.com because i am almost certain that there are intellegent humans reading this inbox.

    similar issue no reply and I wonder if they are ignoring me… I am trying to report that I cannot sent out mail – respond to mail or post comments and still no reply…. I have checked the browser settings yadayada & done everything I could think of expect a darn exorcism…I know it is not a piad service! Had it been I would get some feedback…really crappy , meanwhile some people get results others get ignored!!!

    I had a problem receiving email notifications about comments left on Myspace for me. I had stopped receiving them on 11/8, about a week after I signed up. It wasn’t until I stumbled across this blog that I realized I wasn’t the only person having this problem. On 11/29, I emailed Myspace about it. On 11/30, they emailed me (four times with the same generic message) to let me know they’re working on it. On 12/5, I started receiving the email notifications again. When I submitted the problem, I entered it under their “Site Errors” category and that may have sped up the resolution process.

    I wouldn’t even call it customer support. It’s freakin ridiculous. I recently changed my email and no longer have access to my old one, and am not getting notifications now when I get messages. I emailed them at least 10 times and everytime I get the same response that you got. Hello!
    To change your email your e-mail address go to “Account Settings.” Etc. etc. They say to check your old email for the confirmation code to change, but HELLO!!! I can’t get in my old email. And then on top of that they say if you can’t get into your old email to respond to this email, which I do, and the message can never be sent out. It’s got me sooooo frustrated. I guess the only thing I can try is to send message listing problem as site error as one of the other posters recommended.

    I cannot believe Myspace’s customer service. I emailed them FIVE TIMES and still no response!!!!!!!! I can get emails but I cannot send them. Nothing is in my sent box. Also, if comments have to be approved through other people they do not recieve them. I even called them assholes, 310-969-7400 left voice mails, pressed a number for each department but they are ALL ON VOICE MAIL!!!!! Do these people really even exist? Oh and get this TOM IS ALWAYS AWAY!!!! Has anybody noticed? lol

    ok so i changed my password because my account was sending my friends ads like porn, diet pills ect…. but i forgot the password and could not log into my account so i e-mailed customer service and they replied to message saying that they would send it to the e-mail i signed up with (which i don’t have anymore) or to reply to their message with a salute, so i tried this about 3,874,234 times and my e-mail won’t send to them for some reason, but i can recieve. i emailed customer service again telling them the situation i even tried to send my salute through that, and they keep replying with the same annoying generic responses telling me to “reply to this message with a salute”. this is so annoying its like “hello i just told you guys i can’t reply to you, and you send me a message back telling me to reply” i tried calling customer service and it goes straight to voicemail, im starting to get really pissed off, can anybody help me or have any advice, send to my e-mail

    I just tried calling the 3109697400 # and of course the mailbox is full, I couldn’t leave a vm even if I wanted to.

    I just activated my myspace account, but the verification e-mails are not coming through to my home e-mail address. Without verifying my e-mail address I can’t reply to my friends or send an e-mail??

    I tried cancelling the account and that e-mail had no problem coming through. WTF?

    I can’t add any friends or send out mail. Every time I try it tells me that I have to verify my flippin’ email address. I have several times and I get the damn email verification but apparently something is jacked up on their end.   26. I’m havign almost the same issue and it’s been like this for . . .atleast a week now. I’ve tried messaging them and what not. My issue is that I can send out all the messages I want and reply to all posts and even post bulletins, but it won’t let people send messages to me, nor will it let them post comments on my page. I also have the setting set so that I have to approve comments before they hit my page so now I can’t even approve comments due to the fact that I can’t recieve messages . . . it’s extremely frustrating and I don’t want to have to create a new myspace because of this >.

    Oh crap – I am having the same problem as all of you. The phone number doesn’t do anything but tell me Marge has a full mailbox. Their email support generates a generic response.

    I sent them a salute and tried to change my email from one that didn’t exist anymore to my main email – it locked me out of my account. Can’t get in, my account is now private, and their support won’t help.

He also has been sending adult content and wording to my daughters who is onky 15yrs old. Nothing has been done.     About a month ago, I got a notification that my MySpace account had been hacked, so I changed my password and went about my business as usual. Then, just this week, my friends tell me that my profile icon wasn’t on their page any longer. When I tried to log on, sure enough, my profile was gone–as if it had never existed! No email notification, no warning, nada from the goofs at MySpace. I’ve tried contacting them half a dozen times now and still nothing. It REALLY SUCKS to have put time and thought into something and then have it just disappear, with no hope of ever recovering it. Very frustrating, indeed.

    I have the same problem with Myspace. I had changed my password like in nov.06 and when I tryed to logged in jan. 07 it tells me this account has been locked for 15 mins due to excessive log in attemts… Me I was like huh???? This is my first time trying to log in. So I waited 15 mins and I had the correct password and It tells me please enter the verification code below. So I did that and then i did it 10 more times… and then it said this account has been locked for 15 mins. So I decided to email customer service they sent me my password… and My mouth just dropped because that was the password I had been putting in the whole time. I tried it again and I got the same messages… You have to be logged in to do that I was like what! myspace sent me this password and it’s correct! so I emailed them again and again no response and I still have the same problem. I also enabled all cookies and browers settings on my PC and it still doesn’t work. I alway’s saved my email on the remeber me so that’s not my problem. I can’t figure this one out for the life of me. I have the right email and password and myspace sent a verification email and It showed me the same Information I had to log in to my account. I think someone did something to my account so that I can’t log in to my account even with the right email and password. I’m confused. ) : Anyone have an Idea of what can be going on…?

    I got a notification that my account had been phished so I changed my password and email address. the only problem is that I had an inactive account under the new email and the two accounts got linked. In order to solve the problem I changed the email of the inactive one. That did not work. Not only was I still unable to log onto my acccount, the notifications kept changing to whatever email I changed the inactive one to! I wanted to delete the inactive account, but I’m afraid it will ALSO delete the active one! It also tells me that my email address to the active one is not found. repeated attempts to communicate with them have gone unresolved over two weeks! does anyone have any ideas?

    I just opened an account. Never got an email verification so I can’t add friends or post. I’ve been sending emails to myspace for 4 days asking for help. 4 DAYS! Well, I did get an email explaining HOW to add friends. I wrote back and said “I know HOW to do it I just CAN’T. ” WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!     I also am having this issue when I signed up for myspace I used an email account that I end up deleteing about 2 months ago , myspace made me change my password bc my account was phised , did so and now I can’t remember my password sense my computer saved passwords but had to get a new computer , I can not remember my password , I also emailed myspace customer service , they sent me an email and told me to make a salute if i wanted to change my password and email , well its been weeks and still nothing. I emailed them today but I doubt ill get anything back from them. Ive been waiting for weeks to have them change my email and password so I can get back into my account.

    I got this error message repeatedly and resolved the issue on my own. I had been accessing myspace through a bookmark and when I just used the http://www.myspace.com url I was able to log in. I guess myspace didn’t like that bookmark any more.

    Customer service on the net seems practically nonexistant. Typical throw it over the fence attitude even when you pay for something. At least myspace is free. That’s why people prefer to do business at brick and mortar establishments.

I created yet another account today so I could contact a friend (xxxxxx@gmail.com)….and now the same exact problem has eaten this new account. Luckily, I told my friend that this was probably going to happen…and to email me directly and just bypass myspace all together. You Must Be Logged-In to do That!

    Google yourself sometime. Myspace has the worse track record of any app i’ve ever tried to use. I can’t see myspace being around for any length of time. You Must Be Logged-In to do That!

    Also, has anyone at myspace ever tried to use the customer support system? IT DOES NOT WORK. The automated support email that requests a photo of me holding up a sign is the funniest, stupid thing I’ve ever heard of. In fact, it makes me wonder if hackers have completely taken over myspace. You Must Be Logged-In to do That!

    If I am unable to log in to one of the following three myspace accounts in the next 24 hours, then myspace can simply delete these accounts:

    Also, for what it is worth, ColdFusion is just fine for an app that has one or two pages of code…and less than five users. It does not scale. If myspace is going to survive, it will be because they re-write the app in a grownup language…and they launch an acutal customer support system that is not closely tied to a black hole.     I’ll give you my phone number….because apparently, Myspace can not afford phone service…or Myspace is just too ashamed of their app to answer any calls. Feel free to call me and explain why I should continue to try and use myspace. ###-###-#### x###

    Why am I getting a “You must be logged in to do that” error? I just created this account yesterday. I confirmed my password. Your application simply refuses to let me use it. It fails on FireFox and IE7.

    The reason I created this account (xxxxxx@hotmail.com) is because my main account (xxxxxx@yahoo.com) has been getting the same error for over a month.

  56. How can I delete my myspace account?! Originally when signing up with myspace a year ago, I chose my log in id and used @myspace.com instead of my real e-mail in attachment. Now I can’t even cancel my account b/c my e-mail isn’t valid!! I have tried using an alternate e-mail address but since I started e-mailing myspace about making changes my account is somehow locked out or something!! Everytime I try to sign in, it says that there has been too many failed attempts on my first try with there being plenty of time in between trying to sign on!! I am so pissed!! What can I do?!

    im tryin to log in and i know im using the right password and email, seems like myspace customer service doesn’t exist, myspace is like the only way i can keep intouch with friends from the military, and school, i can’t log into my acct nor will they send me my password, i did the salute thing numerous times im gettin frustrated im still gettin email notifications that im getttin messages but it won’t send me my password to my email, i search my profile its still there but private got my friend to check it out and guess nothing seem to be wrong. any suggestions.

  60. I have been having similar problems with myspace lately. Last Wednesday night, it said that someone tried to phish my account so it said change the password immediately. In trying to change the password, I got locked out of my account or something. Every time I try to have my password sent to me, it doesn’t work. I have tried calling 310-969-7400, extension 7, but I can never get a human. I will keep all of you posted. You can get a human by dialing that number and then hitting *8 after you go to voicemail. You will need to know the 5 digit extension though. Sales is 67596 and marketing is 67597. You can get a human by subtracting sequentially from those extensions. Good luck everybody!

    I’ve been having the same problem since September. I’ve had only two sane responces during the whole charade which were of no help but definitely appreciated. The rest were time and time again pointing me to some area of the FAQ which, should have been clear from my request, would be of absolutely no help what so ever.

    It sickens me that such a sloppily run site gets so much free publicity. It’s not just the customer service either, the site’s a mess.

    I have been writing My Space cs for about two weeks, sending salutes. You would think it would be easy, just type in the email and password I give and that’s it. Nope. I have received auto responses and shit emails from reps that are clearly not reading what I write them about my problem. I’m glad MySpace if free, if it weren’t they would have a lot of people leaving MySpace. I inticially contacted them because of an old profile. I couldn’t recall what email I had used so I couldn’t sign into it. I sent a salute but sent them the same email to my latest profile. That was a huge mistake on my part. So I sent another salute for the old profile but this time with another email. Now, the email I used for my new profile is being used on my old, but they fucked up the spelling of it. So, instead of psalms it’s psalsm. THe psalms email is no longer recognized my MySpace too! WTF! So, now I can sign into my old profile, which was what I wanted all along, yet I cannot sign into the profile I have been for years. I tried changing my email on the old profile to the one I wanted for it all along but a notification read that the email was already in use. So, I’m thinking they put it in the system, but for what account? I know I had sent them the same email to use for this old profile when I sign in with the email and password it doesn’t work. It’s a mess now.
    I sent salute after salute and a link to my latest profile and everything else they ask for including a link but the problem still isn’t fixed. I would love to punch them in the face. This is one response I got from them, it must be a joke:

    Yeah so w.t.f. i mean you have a myspace account but whats the point you cant use it.. if you forgot your password and dont have that email anymore you are completely fu**** !!! so you tell me whats the point of wasting your time ….What are you supposed to do in situations like this.. i used to work for customer service in another industry and i can tell you if myspace was that we would be fired for such crappy service..I believe the are located in the philipenes where they only know how to hit auto responce and never read the actual issue..What kind of business has myspace set up if they want to continue with there worlwide industry i believe they need to get better customer service and quite playing games and pretending to care..I want to talk to cooperate ..but hell id probably get the same response i keep getting..i know the damn steps ive got them emailed to me a thousand times.. but it does not a bit of good if you cant get into the old email address …So you tell me does myspace even deserve to be on the web.. well it goes along well with all the other scams on here but as for proffesionalism hell no it should not be a company and to me has not earned the right to be called the best or even ok..Its deserves to be called bullsh** and ridiculous people who cant tell the a** from their eyes..Get it together or you will be losing alot of business resulting in myspace going bye bye..Hell that may actually be better for us all anyway!!!!!

    Hi all,

    I was able to talk to somebody at Myspace via the telephone after about an hour of non-stop trying.
    Myspace’s direct number, 310-969-7400, leads to full voicemails and disconnected lines. However, I was able to call Myspace’s parent company, News Corporation, at 310-969-1000 and speak to a receptionist/operator. I then explained to her that I was attempting to reach someone at Myspace but I couldn’t due to the full voicemails and unmanned phone lines.
    She then was able to transfer me to an “internal receptionist” at Myspace who was about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. (It should however be noted that this “internal receptionist” was at least very polite).
    Once, I had explained my ordeal that required customer service in the first place to this “internal receptionist”, she told me that all customer service requests and requests for contacts MUST go through the web site. I told this polite, young girl that I have attempted that and only received generic e-mail responses that did not answer my issue. I then asked her if there was a manned customer service department or person that she should transfer me to that could answer my question. She said that there was not. I asked if I could be transferred to her boss. She said I could not. I asked if there was a specific e-mail address that I could contact and get a human response. She said there was not.
    She then explained to me that by law, she wasn’t supposed to answer any of my questions since she is an “internal receptionist” and not someone who was supposed to answer outside lines.
    In short, Myspace needs to change their tactics concerning customer service NOW. After at least of hour of phone trees, the only person I was able to reach was someone who claimed that she, by law, was not supposed to help me. What is that about? Myspace does not generate revenues from its users, so understandably I don’t expect them to buy me a turkey on Thanksgiving. However, we are using their services and without us, they would have no revenue, whatsoever.

    You are all correct!! This is aweful, I wish I never joined considering I hardley ever used this site to begin with. All of a sudden I started getting/added random “friends” who were totally NOT my friends to my profile page. Sure enough, someone must of hacked into my account (no clue how they could of done that) considering I am never on myspace. Changed my pw 3x. Still, I had 18 pages worth of “sent out requests” that I CLEARLY did not send out.

    Sent 4 emails- same damn “generic” responses. Found the # left 2 voice messages & its been 2 days still NOTHING.

    I DELETED my account OVER 48hours ago and I am STILL getting notifications of new friends & apparently I am still up there says my “actual” friends? But I can’t get on anymore. Is there anything legally you can do about this? This is REALLY ridiculous!

    I’ve had an account for over three years, and was one of the many sheep to get a Myspace page.

    This past September, my account was hacked for the 374249237272947891st time, and about 170 friends received bogus e-mails from me. So after I changed my password for the 374249237272947892nd time, I then mysteriously locked out of my account. Before it was locked, I tried to change my e-mail address, and Myspace sent a verification code…to my old e-mail address…which I have not used since February of this year, so no luck there. Never have I heard of a website e-mailing verification info to your OLD e-mail address. Doesn’t that completely defeat the purpose of getting a NEW e-mail address?!

    Anyways, I sent the salute. They responded with an FAQ about blogs (WTF?!). I sent another salute, and told them to read the e-mail this time. I received instructions on how to change my e-mail address. I sent another salute, and another, and probably another. No response.

    I finally said screw it and put more attention into Facebook. Apparently, more and more people are doing the same thing. Myspace’s flame is slowly fading out, and to it, I say good riddance. I do have a secondary page for my company and I read the filmmaker forum. But the site is still a joke.

    Strangely enough, my Facebook page had some hacking happen two weeks ago. They immediately locked my account and e-mailed me, advising to change my e-mail and password. And guess what?! They sent the verification information to my NEW e-mail account! This whole problem was resolved in five minutes! Yes, that’s a plug for Facebook.

    Myspace will do nothing to uphold their terms of use agreement. I reported a user for displaying his age as 23 years old when in fact he is 13 years old. According to Myspace, this is a serious violation. What did they do? They emailed him to change his age. He again lied and said he was 15. I reported him again. What did Myspace do? They emailed him a second time to change his age. He is also displaying satanic markings in his photos. He has made comments about kicking his father. What does Myspace do about this? they state cult markings and family violence are not against their policy. Once a user signs up and creates an account, a contract is formed according to the Terms of Use Agreement. Violating this agreement results in deletion of the profile. Falsifying contents in the user profile, violence, and offensive material are all regarded a violations against the Agreement. All of this has occurred and the profile is still on the site. Myspace must employ the dumbest people they can find. They are too stupid to know what their own Terms of Use Agreement means!

    CUSTOMER “SERVICE” replied to my email saying have you forgotten your password with a link to a generic page, when i sent an email from my OTHER email address (davistessa@hotmail.com)stating that my password doesn’t arrive in my email inbox at Oh_my_gourd_its_u@hotmail.com (WTF?!!!)
    now today i’ve tried to recover my password again by having it sent to Oh_my_gourd_its_u@hotmail.com and JUST TODAY it comes up as “invalid email” (WTF?! again)
    They sent me a generic email and without telling me changed some setting from their end to say its an invalid email address??
    So now consequently to thier incompetetnce or lack of training as an employee (which isn’t really entirely their fault then) , i have neither a login email OR password, can anyone help??
    I’m absolutley positive that these “I.T.”?? people have access to all kinds of settings from their end and it’s my guess that the system is so poorly set up and that they have to many comlpaints to solve all the problems successfully or that they just plain don’t care and are lazy.

  86. Boy oh boy…. apparently myspace has been full of shit since 2007. Here it is 2009 and Up untill the beginning of January I have never had a problem access ing my page. BUT NOW….. I haven’t been able to get on for weeks. I have sent numerous emails,with no response, well one response. The same Bullshit email, spoke of on this page. I have seen nice emails, pleading emails and even the most irrate emails, cussing at them and telling them to get on their shit. Really? Same response. Damn, I don’t even have a facebook account, but they sure are making it look appealing. What am I supposed to do? Some help please?
